History and Information

The Village of Camp Douglas began as a railroad town in 1864 by Mr. Chamberlin and James Douglas (read more below under history).  The town slowly grew and was incorporated in 1893 with only around 330 people.  The Village has gone through many changes since those times but has maintained it's small town charm and doubled its population to around 600!

We are only about 5 miles away from the Village of Hustler, 6 miles from New Lisbon and 15 miles from Mauston.  In the other direction 6 miles from Oakdale and 15 miles from Tomah.
